L'iguane des Petites-Antilles, un grand lézard herbivore, est une espèce endémique qui symbolise la biodoversité en Guadeloupe notamment. Une étude du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle montre qu'au fil des siècles, le nombre et la taille des iguanes diminuent fortement.
