Like many other families, in spring 2020 the Forsters found themselves locked down. With traffic disappearing and planes grounded, news and social media sites were seeking the upsides of lockdown – cleaner air, lower emissions. Could there be some unexpected benefits for climate change?

Et si, en cas de pic de pollution, la loi imposait aux employeurs d'accepter les demandes de télétravail de leurs salariés ? C'est en tout cas ce que propose le sénateur Jean-Claude Requier et plusieurs de ses collègues du Rassemblement démocratique social européen (RDSE) qui ont déposé le 3 janvier une proposition de loi en ce sens.

Une étude publiée ce mardi dans « Nature Climate Change » donne le bilan précis du confinement. Du 1 er janvier au 30 avril, la mise à l'arrêt de l'économie a entraîné une baisse de 8,6 % des émissions mondiales de CO2. La baisse est encore plus marquée en France.
