Le commissaire Sinkevičius , au nom de l'UE, a rejoint un partenariat d'accélération de grande ambition pour soutenir la future mise en œuvre du cadre mondial pour la biodiversité (GBF) en cours de négociation lors de la COP15 à Montréal. En outre, l'UE et de nombreux autres partenaires s'engagent également à créer un service mondial d'appui aux connaissances sur la biodiversité.

The CITES capacity building programme offers support to developing country Parties to sustainably manage and conserve their wildlife based on solid scientific information and legal requirements. This article highlights the outcomes of projects supported by the European Union, and in particular through the partnership of UNEP and the European Commission (EC) under the ENRTP-GPGC Cooperation Agreement. Recipient countries, the donors and the Secretariat work together to enable all Parties to meet their international obligations under CITES, and this allows them to participate in the global economy while meeting other international commitments such as the SDGs.

The webinar series set out to contribute to strengthen climate and water linkages in national frameworks such as NDCs, NAPs and various investment mechanisms. It aims in particular to highlight climate and water inter-linkages and contribute to improve the coordination across climate and water decision-makers and professionals; provide examples of coordination and implantation mechanisms and introduce the financing landscape of climate and water.

La Convention sur le commerce international des espèces de faune et de flore sauvages menacées d'extinction, connue par son sigle CITES ou encore comme la Convention de Washington, est un accord international entre Etats. Elle a pour but de veiller à ce que le commerce international des spécimens d'animaux et de plantes sauvages ne menace pas la survie des espèces auxquelles ils appartiennent.
