Pour les habitants de Taupo, en Nouvelle-Zélande, lorsqu’une personne disparaît en mer, comme ce fût le cas au mois de février, il est assez fréquent d’interdire la pêche tant que le corps n’ait pas été retrouvé. Paracentrotus lividus. C'est le nom de l'oursin violet, particulièrement apprécié par les gourmands et les gourmets qui attendent avec impatience la fin de l'année. Cet hôte recherché sur les tables doit toutefois être consommé avec modération car il s'agit d'une espèce essentielle à l'écosystème marin.
