The IUCN Restoration Barometer is the only functioning platform already being used by governments to track the progress of their restoration targets. It is currently used by 22 governments, endorsed by over 50, and was previously used by additional countries including the United States and Brazil. Data on over a dozen more countries will be uploaded in early 2023 and it is also being piloted for use by 34 companies.

This report has been commissioned through CREW and written by staff from The James Hutton Institute. It represents a collaboration between a range of organisations in the UK and Ireland: Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Environment Agency (England), Northern Ireland Environment Agency, Rivers Agency (Northern Ireland), Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, Loughs Agency (NI), Office of Public Works (Republic of Ireland), Inland Fisheries Ireland, and the River Restoration Centre.

Co-developed by ILO, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), this report is the first in a joint global biennial report series that aims to fill knowledge and advocacy gaps on how transitions to a green economy will affect the world of work, and of the role that NbS can and do play in creating employment, especially for the poorest and most vulnerable people.
