Les financements seront destinés aux projets dont les objectifs touchent à la protection et à la restauration des écosytèmes marins côtiers, en particulier sur les thématiques suivantes : services écosystémiques, restauration d'écosystèmes, carbone bleu, aires marines protégées, aires marines gérées localement et l'action sur les pilliers stratégiques de l'UNEP pour la stabilité du climat, la vie en harmonie avec la nature et une planète sans pollutions.
