In 2018, a major reassessment mapped the AZE sites that must be effectively protected if the world’s most threatened species are to survive. The location of each provisional site is shown as a polygon on the map below. Sites can be searched by country, taxonomic group, or by a polygon that you select. Tabular information on the species at each site is available at the bottom of the map and can be exported.
These sites are based on species groups that have been globally assessed by the IUCN Red List, including amphibians, birds, cacti, cone snails, conifers, corals...
