Gland, Switzerland, 18 July 2019 (IUCN) – Overfishing has pushed two families of rays to the brink of extinction, while hunting for bushmeat and habitat loss have led to the decline of seven primate species, according to the latest update of The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The IUCN Red List has broken through the 100,000 species barrier; it now includes assessments for 105,732 species, of which 28,338 species are threatened with extinction.

L'Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN) a mis à jour sa tristement célèbre Liste rouge. 105.732 espèces y sont répertoriées. Plus de 100.000 espèces - 105.732 exactement - sont répertoriées sur cette liste, dont 28.338 sont menacées d'extinction, selon un communiqué, soit 7.000 de plus que dans la dernière version.
