La Liste Rouge des espèces menacées requiert des données suffisamment précises sur les espèces à évaluer afin d’obtenir un résultat robuste. C’est dans cette optique que le Pôle-relais zones humides tropicales s’est associé à Sentinelle Lab, spécialiste des espèces d’eau douce de Guadeloupe, afin de poursuivre les efforts d’acquisition de connaissances sur les poissons et crustacés du territoire.

The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems is a global framework for monitoring the status of ecosystems. It is part of the growing toolbox for assessing risks to biodiversity and aims to support conservation, resource use, and management decisions by identifying ecosystems most at risk of biodiversity loss. These Guidelines assist correct implementation of the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Categories and Criteria by providing information on the development of the protocol and a detailed overview of the scientific foundations supporting the categories and criteria.

Dans le cadre de la Liste rouge nationale, les résultats de l'évaluation de 284 espèces d'oiseaux nicheurs de France métropolitaine ont été publiés en 2015. 92 espèces sont menacées de disparition et 43 autres sont quasi menacées. Ce rapport fournit des justifications et des données sur les évaluations réalisées.

Since 2008, many experts from around the world have been actively participating in the development of the categories and criteria for the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE). One of the latest products of this work is the publication of the IUCN’s "Guidelines for the application of IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Categories and Criteria." This document provides a theoretical, exemplified, updated and documented guide for the systematic application of the RLE’s categories and criteria.
