Les documents de gestion des aires protégées constituent pour les gestionnaires un outil indispensable pour organiser et planifier leur travail, garantir la cohérence des actions à long terme et communiquer avec les acteurs du territoire. L'Inventaire National du Patrimoine Naturel (INPN) franchit une nouvelle étape dans la mise en œuvre de la Stratégie Nationale des Aires Protégées (SNAP) en mettant à disposition du public la base de données qui recense les documents de gestion des aires protégées.

Chaque année depuis 2007, la Tour du Valat et l’Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB) réunissent les acteurs de la chasse, de la conservation de la nature et de la recherche en Camargue au cours d’une demi-journée d’échange.

In Foreste Casentinesi National Park, the annual census of Red Deer, based on the vocal rutting monitoring, has become a very important event involving for three days and nights more than 600 volunteers that arrive from all over Italy and abroad, belonging to different categories: wildlife managers, scientists, rangers, students, hunters, environmentalists and ordinary volunteers. All the involved volunteers are requested to spend many hours in the night outside. They are divided in couples, listening to rutting deer and registering data. During the days, they attend seminars, training lessons and moments of conviviality. The original goal of monitoring the Red Deer population for managing purposes is now accompanied by other important objectives: removal of cultural barriers between people from very different cultural and social backgrounds about nature conservation; nature tourism opportunity; social experience, creating a strong feeling with the Park.

We illustrate how to build spaces of interactions between research and management. We present two case studies we conducted through a long-term collaboration between the Centre for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (CEFE; academic/science—a public research laboratory mostly focused on basic ecological questions) and the French Biodiversity Agency (OFB; non-academic/management—a public institute dedicated to biodiversity protection and restauration, under administrative supervision of ecology and agriculture ministries) with biodiversity monitoring in national parks and management of large carnivores in France.

Cet AMI vise à fournir un appui méthodologique et statistique pour la conception, la mise en œuvre et/ou l’évaluation d’une opération scientifique (inventaire, suivi, etc.) portant sur la biodiversité française.

Les études proposées doivent porter sur la création d’une nouvelle opération scientifique ou sur l’évolution d’une opération scientifique déjà existante. L’opération scientifique doit s’intéresser à des espèces (animales et végétales) ou à des habitats naturels.
