40 million Americans filed for unemployment during the pandemic, but billionaires saw their net worth increase by half a trillion dollars. This isn’t the first time billionaires have seen gains while others dealt with loss, and it tends to tie back to two things.

I believe when you’re an 1%, you get a lot of perks and privileges as you can see.

Humanity has come a long way from traveling by horse, but when we consider the future of transportation in cities, too many of us are still stuck in the 18th century. We still envision our streets full of four-wheel chariots (minus the horses), and our future as relying on cars or car-like vehicles, because that’s all we know.

We need to regulate AI before it is too late and AI turns against human beings if not directly, then in other ways! |

Technology and Artificial Intelligence are evolving fast. Soon we may be forced to merge ourselves with machines in order to keep up.

Round of AI movements across the American industry.
Richard Platt's curator insight,
July 11, 2018 6:39 PM
First was big data, and then came cloud, then the machine learning frenzy. We reached peak machine learning in 2017. Last year investors pumped in over $15.2B in funding to AI startups across multiple industries. It was a 141% spike in funding from 2016. Over 1,100 new AI companies have raised their first rounds of funding since 2016. And that’s more than half the historic number of AI startups that have ever raised an equity round. The normalization and mainstreaming of machine learning will make investors picky about the AI companies they fund.

WHY IT MATTERS: the world economic forum provides a trove of useful data and analysis on topics related to the 4th industrial revolution. It provides useful insight into key digital technologies related to that topics as well.
Kim Flintoff's curator insight,

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is about more than just technology-driven change; it is an opportunity to help everyone, including leaders, policy-makers and people from all income groups and nations, to harness converging technologies in order to create an inclusive, human-centred future. The real opportunity is to look beyond technology, and find ways to give the greatest number of people the ability to positively impact their families, organisations and communities.

We have to keep pace with development. IRL 5.0 is on the door step.

Attending concerts during the pandemic is changing. As you enter into the gates you would have to get your temperature checked, be wearing a mask, and as you enter the concert site you would need to be 6 feet apart from the other people.
* the futurist.co is a site based on the future. They provide insight on topics like future healthcare, future society, future technology etc.
The picture shown above is an assumption of what most of us thought would be what a live concert would look like in 2021. It was assumed that there would be social distancing and limited occupancy requirements, and more than half way through the year and many concerts later we can see that this was not the future.
